Hey /n/,
I normally ride a single speed road bike but I've been wanting to get into bmx

This guys asking 75 for this Haro

Do you think this is a good starter or will it break on the first jump I try?

I'll be checking for cracks in the welds and any bending in the chain stay

What do you all think?

Also, is this little "dimple" or "dent" something that is normally on bmx chain stays?

Or is it a cause for concern?

Most frames have that dent, it's there to prevent the chainring from rubbing against the frame
I'm no BMX expert but it looks pretty shitty to me.

Slam the seat. You'll look like an asshole pedaling a BMX sitting down. Too many brakes, too. I don't know if you need a front brake so you can ditch that, don't mess with the gyro just pull off the lever and the cables and the front brake mount. Also consider just ditching brakes entirely later on. I just started bmxing not too long ago and I'm strongly considering ditching the fucking thing already.

Those pedals look pretty wore out. Get some plastic ones. They're light and fairly cheap.

Take it into a shop to look at the tires, specifically the spokes. Also check if the chain tension is on the up and up and the chain itself. Take a look at the bottom bracket and stuff.

Overall it's a tough bike (and probably heavy as shit) and will last you for a good while if there aren't any serious cracks or rust. Good buy for $60. You can't even get a shitty walmart BMX for that price, let alone a Haro.

Its absolute trash desu. Get the one on clearence at chain reaction cycles. You need to have at least 9 inch riser bars for it to be bearable to ride and sealed hubs so it doesn't fall apart to peices while you are on it. Consider getting thicker wheels as well.

Pretty standard bmx, not worth a lot of money nowadays but it won't let you down. Frames are rock solid obviously, forks look sturdy so they shouldn't bend, looks like pressed steel hubs which aren't fantastic but they do the job, probably dual walled rims can't see any buckles.

Probably the only thing that can go wrong is the rear freewheel - they tend to be pretty weak. But hey if you bust it just swap in a new wheel with an alloy cassette hub.
