They have a small layout of a ridable mini railroad, too...powered by a tiny steam loco.

You should consider doing the shop tour. They do repairs for other steam railroads, and have done stuff for Disney in the past (and possibly currently).

Strasburg is pretty incredible. It's the oldest continuously operating railroad in the western hemisphere. The line is still connected to the main Norfolk Southern line and still runs some revenue freight with steam locomotives. usually they'll haul a passenger car or two when they go to pick up or drop off freight cars. The freight runs are unscheduled and are $15 paid in cash to the conductor.
