Buying a New bike

I wanted to buy myself a Roadbike and Asked a local Shop What He would Recommend me.

The Izoard from the Company Steven came up and i Asked the shop keeper to order it so i can test Drive it.

What Do you guys Think?
Also What should i buy to Maintain my bike i have not much knoweledge of bikes but wanted to get into it

Looks like a fine bike. Just make sure you get a proper fit, it makes a huge difference.
For maintenance, for now I'd just buy a bottle of chain lube. Also a set of hex keys if you don't have some already

That is a good bike but its kind of deep end for a beginner- basically a low end race bike. I would get a cheaper aluminum bike to feel out the sport before you commit to spending mad dosh on carbon.
Basic hand tools, torque wrench,lube, spare tubes should keep you going, shop will do a tune up and anything more complex usually for free within a certain time of purchase. Def buy a helmet, cycling shorts, pedals and shoes.

Not familiar with the company so I looked up the bike, looks high end and pricey for a beginner. My concern is, are you sure this is going to be an activity you will pursue in long term? What kind of biking will you do and what kind of roads will you encounter? Knowing your plans and budget would greatly help us assist in finding you a proper bicycle. If all else, do as >>1121304 says and make sure you are properly fitted, especially considering you have no previous experience.

For maintenance
>check tire pressure and tire wear
>clean/oil chain
>check sprocket/chainring/chain wear
>grease any bushings/bearings
>check/adjust brakes
>index gears/shifters
>true wheel or adjust spoke tension
>inspect frame, fork, and everything for cracks
literally everything maintenance required listed

Dynamometric wrech or you will fuck your garbon.

It looks like a nice bike, to me looks way expensive, but I'm a cheap guy that prefers alu+105 combination.

that's a race road bike, you are better off to start with with an endurance road bike (more comfy, relaxed geometry)

wouldn't spend more than ~$1000 to start off. you also need like at least $200 for new clothes, tools, etc.

p.s. no one buys a roadbike in winter where they can't use it except if it's a really good deal. will age even if not used.

Looks great. The decent wheelset, full 105, lbs support and the carbon frame are worthwhile. Diminishing returns kick in after this point not before it. You're not saying the price, and cheaper road bikes are still decent, but go for it imo, no need to be a poorfag if you aren't a poorfag.

Here on winter we don't get extreme temperatures, usually 8ºc average during the day, and it doesn't rain, just clouds and wind. This year during the first months of the year I rode my bike more than I did during summer, and this summer I rode more than usually. The only bad thing about winter is that you can't take long rides after lunch because at 18:00 it's already dark.

Yeah im german because my phone is an asshole and randomly capitalizes english words sometimes.

I probably will test drive it and check it out how it goes.

I wanted to use it to drive it for fun and driving small tours around my area.

Im visiting my brother who is 60 km away sometimes with my bike and was planning to do it with that one sometimes.

I live in village area and there are basically only bike roads to drive, all of them almost all of them in a pretty decent shape.

I have basically all kind of equipment at home alloy keys, etc etc because my dad as a huge garage and collects that stuff almost.

I dont mind riding in winter, i always commute 16 km (8km back and forth) with my bike but its some kind of very cheap trekking bike for 300€. Most of the gears arent working anymore, it weight almost 20 kg and backlight and front doesnt work so i bought some very good ones for 60 € to strap on that worked fine up to day.

I will o ly say that spending more makes you more motivated to actually ride more, which sooner or later you will get bored and it will sit in the garage and collect dust. With a nicer bike, itll more likely become a new lifelong lifestyle hobby.

Also, if its the color you like, feels right, then go for it. Paint doesnt matter, but some reason a sweet color scheme just makes me enjoy the bike more than smoother shifters and brakes

average price for last years model.
obv direct sales brands such as Canyon and Rose will give a better bike.

i'd say that bike is too expensive to ever leave outside.
no lock can protect it in the age of battery-powered angle grinders.

if you aren't doing 100km tours it's a waste.

bike lanes suck for road bikes since road bikes go as fast as cars not 15km/h like your average bike rider.
but German laws force you to use bike lanes if they have a street sign.

Also ive never maintained my old one and i have it for 4-5 years now., After some time that thing that changes the gears bended a bit as far as ive been told .The bike was about 250.€ new.

If your older bike is more of an upright hybrid I'd go for something a little closer to that, like a touring bike with drop bars - you can do 60 km on of those without feeling it at all, can add racks, fenders etc to make it more useful otherwise. They're also much more durable than the bike you're looking at.
I understand how racing bikes appeal when you're looking to upgrade - be realistic about the type of riding you intend to do and you'll likely pick something else though.

it looks unbalanced.
expensive carbon frame, but then beginner 105 groupset.
makes only sense if you want to keep that frame for long and upgrade groupsets later yourself when the old ones are done.
but then it's a cheap carbon frame, which will have a questionable lifespan.
and of course you can't do any crashes.

Ask your dealer if you can get the Aspin for the same price, then go for that one instead. The stelvio is another option with the same components but alloy frame.

alu frames are also pretty nice already.
if i had a decent alu+105 bike and still money to burn, i would get a better wheelset (all brands cost-cut them for some reason) before upgrading the frame or groupset.
way more noticeable and if i want to lose weight i can always do that on the engine.

I see a lot of new road cyclists outright spurning carbon. They're often coming from a 'road bikes are stupidly expensive and gay' or a 'muh steel retro bike or muh fixie' position, and it's like taking up the aluminium flag and still hating on carbon allows them to maintain a semblance of their old position, they're still rejecting road cycling, while still getting a nice modern road bike, and feeling like a special snowflake. Carbon to them represents the final frontier. It's like sucking a feminine penis and not being gay.
