Before I got into biking, I hated two things about those who rode when I was walking. Not angling their light down at night, therefore spot lighting my friends and myself, or listening to music loudly. Especially if trying to talk.
I like listening to music or a pod cast when I ride because it helps the time go by and distracts me from any discomfort from just starting out.
But, I use head phones. In fact, I use the ones from my roku remote because they fit well.
When I get to congested places, like from the county into the city, I take one out and hang it around my ear.
