>>1126524This. In racially diverse American cities, the whites, chinese, indians, jews, etc all do well for themselves economically and grit their teeth and bear it when they have to contend with awful traffic to get to and from their jobs.
Meanwhile, the black neighborhoods do such a poor job at managing crime inside of them that they drive away any/all employers that arent check cashing places and liquor stores/chinese restaurants with bars on the windows where you're served through a porthole in 1" thick lexan. The blacks then proceed to whine about the fact that the reason why their neighborhoods are such crime-infested shitholes is because they don't have access to good jobs, because of structural racism or whatever other Sociology/AA studies 101 buzzword is in vogue this month.
At the same time, the blacks take over the local [democratic party] political establishments because democracy was a mistake and the most reliable voter bloc is the one who doesn't have anything better to do on a weekday than get bussed to the polls, and because all the non-blacks vote for them out of misplaced feelings of white guilt. This means that when it comes time to plan for transit rollouts, which almost always get money from a democratic presidency/congress, the squeakiest (read: black) gears get all that greasy political graft in the form of subway lines built right through the heart of the *cough* melanated democratic supermajority neighborhoods*cough*, er, I mean, the heart of the ghetto, because duh kuhmoonuhtee needz it.
What this does to everyone else who comprises the hard-working middle class is turn the nascent transit system from an intriguing curiosity into a mechanical sewer that streams only plummeting property values from its stations. Naturally, they fight it tooth and nail, as it takes them only to neighborhoods that they avoid like the plague, while offering them no benefits whatsoever, and so you end up with single-line white elephants like MARTA.
