He does downhill times with zero pedaling to only compare momentum. 27.5 wins uphill, 29" wins downhill. Ironically, 26"/27.5" is used for downhill and 29" is used for all around XC, uphill. Theres soooo many factors at play.
Over the years, he has decided a bike that can fit 27.5 PLUS and 29" is absolutely the way to go, as he has always changed up his XC bike, season after season, and his trail bike he sees the limitations and sticks with a XC and cyclocross bike for everything.
I cant really suggest 1 single video, though I would say start with "27.5" vs 29 which is fastest and who are they for"
Suspension has dampening so its not springy. Fat tires pumped up have springy bounce to them which is bad. Fat tires at low psi offer maximum traction and maximum rolling resistance.
The offroad world translates better in my mind to better understand this. See next post with Jeeps & Baja bugs and trucks
