Hi /n/,

The next time you travel shinkansen, try the Gran class if it has one. It's like one class above Green class. Huge comfy seats, and service of food and drinks included.

I've ridden the Shinkansen from Yokohama to Hiroshima and back twice. The US Army wouldn't spring for fancy seats. All I could get was reserved seats in the normal cars.

Haven't been to it yet but I think it's a western toilet. They still do have a pissoir cabin for men in addition to the normal toilets.

I took the H5 Gran Class down to Tokyo from Shin Aomori

Was extremely cozy with snow flying about everywhere and delicious food.

The only other people were a couple of salarymen who came on at Sendai

I have managed to save $400 over the last 5 years, and i think i can live there quite cheaply if i can afford the airfare. My plan is to travel village to village like a ronan and do odd tasks for money and generally help people out. Hopefully i'll be able to get free lodging and meet some lifelong freinds. When i find a wife there i will start my own buisness, maybe selling sushi or mangas

Why can't you get first class in planes for a reasonable price increase?

Train 1st class (unless you talk about things like >>1132121 ) is mostly quite affordable, but in planes you pay insane amounts of money.

And on planes (long distance) it really makes sense to have it, wheres on a train, cattle class is good enough most of the time. No scurity that takes away your drinks and food, enough leg room, and when you get bored, you can walk around, so I don't see a need to upgrade, apart from "just because", but on planes it would really make sense.
