share tips/stories/gear for those cold rides to work or maintenance rides
got sks commuter fenders on my bike. switched to thin thin oil for my chain and any lube needed until it warms up some as i found my normal chain oil gets to hard/thick when its 0F outside. pretty much given up on salt prevention, as the roads here turn white with all the salt they put down
got some pearl izumui lobster gloves so looking forward to try that out. then i wear a face fleece face mask and pearl izumi thermal jacket. for boots i generally just wear regular leather booths, as they are the only thing that keeps my feet dry in the sloshy roads.
any suggestion on good warm pants? i have a pair of long pants riding clothes but they don’t seem like they’d be warm at all.
