To put things into perspective, I have 5 bikes. Two of them are high end carbon fiber bikes, worth thousands of dollars each. I still ride my 1980s steel road bike more than any of my other bikes, and it only cost me $175 on Craigslist (though it did need new tires/tubes and brake pads, and wasn't long before it needed a new chain). And that bike is awesome. I can comfortably ride it for a few hundred kilometers nonstop. I commute on it, go on adventure rides, etc. It's light, comfortable, all around a great bike.
Point being, if you're not happy with your current bike, don't waste money upgrading it, because you can get a good bike for cheap if you know what to buy (and we can help).
