Does anyone have any idea about these beginner level full suspension bikes? I have an opportunity to get 60% off this brand. Are there other Diamondbacks you guys reccommend?

Get GOOD front suspension before you add rear suspension or go used. Also, make sure full suspension is a good choice for wherever you're riding in the first place.

I think this might make sense if you could scavenge a good front fork Less garbage than most cheap FS.

You're always better off putting your money towards a better hardtail than a cheap FS bike. Any FS bike that doesn't come with a good fork is a waste of money.

How chunky are your local trails? The base model Atroz 1 might be suitable for it. If you really want to bomb it downhill and up and have a great right, the Atroz 2 gets a better SR Suntour fork, but still plagued by the brands name. The Atroz 3 gets RockShox brand fork, and that's all the rage. BUt then again, it's a $1,699 MSRP bicycle. My first car that me 3 years cost $1,600, and saw less mechanical problems that this bicycle will probably see.

I feel like Trek and Specialized are like, Toyota and Honda. Or Chevrolet and Ford. Mercedes Benz and BMW. The best in their respective nation. And then you have the odd balls, Nissan, Mitsubishi. Dodge Chyrsler, Audi, that seem to fall short, even if their offerings are great bang for the buck.

In the MTB world, I feel like Diamondback and Giant are this oddball.

I'm still very new to the bicycle world, chime me in if my assumptions are wrong in any way.

Also, how do you choose what bike to buy? I'm looking for a mountain bike and started looking online... Holy shit they're more categories than I ever thought.

The guys at my shop have a saying, actually two:

"Shoulda bought a Recoil"
"Put 'em on a Recoil"

Possibly the best deal in MTB history. Just get a Recoil before they sell out again and diamondback realizes they can charge 2x, 3x more

Hey guys, OP here. Not a shill. I'm working in retail right now and we have a program where brands give you really big discounts to to take a couple tests on their brand. So I was just curious if you can ride DH on any of these Diamondback bikes.

Recoil can not only win DH events but people have been winning illegal alleyway races in NYC on them recently. The track cycling bros are crying about it since summer. Get a Recoil

I cant say until you say how chunky your local trails are. I can bomb downhill on my hardtail 29er no prob on my smooth fire road type trails. If I go towards San Diego, trails start getting rocks and they'll fuck me up. I had a minor bend in my back tire.

Buy a Sonder Transmitter. Its a plus sized (27.5x3.0F and 27.5 x 2.8R. The lowest spec one comes with a Recon air fork, SRAM NX Group, and sram level hydros. This is an awesome bike ( I have one) The plus tires roll pretty quick and really soak a lot of the bumbs and rocks. That model is a little under $1,200USD Shipped to your door

Also, another option at that pricepoint is a Commencal META HT. Another is the On One Dee Dar. The dee dar is a bit dated in terms of standards, but still a nice bike. Id loook at the Commencal or SOnder. Great price points because they are direct to consumer.

Ya, Ibve heard the same thing. Im a beginner MTBer when it comes to "Hardcore MTBs" and I thought the Meta Ht had too much travel in the front and would just be too much for me. I bought the Sonder Transmitter because it was shorter travel in the front and seemed more balanced. Thats just me tho,
