>>1146067I'm not that guy
>>1146024 but I'm also new and was considering an e-bike.
Height is 5 feet 10 inches. Weight is 250 lbs with an estimated 30% body fat.
Looking into an e-bike figuring that I can use it to commute to work and assist when my fat ass can't push it any more, and maybe one day I can make it the 15 mile length without a motor assist and maybe I'll be less fat then.
Three largest concerns for me are
1) Commute is 15 miles long with a 1000 ft elevation difference each way with the trail ranging from sharing roads with cars to abandoned railroads that the state is in the process of converting to bike paths. As a side effect, a pure road bike probably wouldn't work out, but then again, I don't really know bikes.
2) Where I live, unless it is between May and September, it's always fucking raining and everything is fucking wet. I need the motor assist when I start out, so I would like for it to not die right away due to water damage.
3) It's been over a decade since I was regularly cycling and I was a kid back then. No clue what the fuck I need in terms of accessories beyond a helmet and a bike rack for the car potentially, or just noob things to know if biking to commute instead of for hobby.
Any help?
