then work on steering at low speed and at high speed. low speed is pivoting the handlebar but you want to get comfortable with steering by leaning your entire body at moderate speeds and above.
now raise your seat to the proper height. the height he suggested for learning to stay upright is not actually good for normal riding (you'll be cranking your knees into your chest with it low like that) learn to dismount when coming to a stop since you won't be able to straddle anymore from seated position.
get comfortable with being close to stuff while riding and not freaking out if a car passes you. learn to do shoulder-checks while keeping your line straight.
