Why do people still put up with noisy trains going by meters from buildings? A monorail would be better fit for purpose.

See how it isn't grade separated so only one direction can traverse it at any one time? Greatly simplifies things. All you need is some straight bits and some corner bits that can be rotated and flipped to join the necessary tracks.
