Why bike transmissions and drivetrains are left exposed?
I don't see possible physical limitation on building a protective enclosure,
on the contrary you could have the chain constantly dipping into oil: less friction, less losses, more durability.
Autos and motos don't need to periodically change gearing, why then on bikes is acceptable to change the gearbox/chain every year?
