Has cycling helped you mentally? Before I started riding I was very depressed and I found that riding was the magic bullet that cured it. The problem is it takes more and more to get my "fix". I need to get at least one good ride in a week or I'll feel horrible, but I'm getting to the point that the amount of cycling it takes to curb my anxiousness and help me relax is more than can fit in a day. Admittedly I don't leave at first light, 60 - 80 miles is usually what I go for, but I've gone much further. I'm not the fastest, and I have a poverty tier bike, so I end up riding till sundown. I recently gotten into mountain biking and I think the new challenge is just the thing, but there aren't any long trails around here, and I hate doing laps.
