Bike is faster, can deal with bad roads and lasts a longer distance.
Folding bike is about as compact as well.

Short distances as long as the roads are relatively smooth, not too hilly, and reasonably quiet

You also don’t need to worry about locking them anywhere because you can just carry them anywhere you go

You’d need to be a real autist to take a folding bike to college or high school

I used to longboard a lot, but I ride a track bike on campus.
Reasons:
1. I can actually go far, like a 40 mile round trip
2. Rolls over things easier
3. Have a way to stop if tards jump in front of me
4. Don't have to bring it into crowded lectures
5. Faster

A bike is faster and more efficient, also you can lock it outside of your building and don't have to carry it with you inside.

As for maintenance, you should service your bike in you garage buddy, not when you're on the go. A mini pump, a spare tube and 2-3 tire levers is more than enough to carry when commuting.

Track bike refers to the frame having track geometry. I ride my track bike on the velodrome, but when I ride it around I put on brakes.

Well another advantage of a bicycle usually is the fact that a bicycle unlike a manchild skateboard can easily do a 1000km between maintenance so carrying tools for purpose other than inner tube repair/replacement is pointless.

I started with a penny board but I bought a popsicle to learn sick trixx. Once it's not deathly cold every night I'm gonna go out and get used to it. If I could do it over I would start with a popsicle, having to relearn everything sucks.

Longboards are neat more because theyre fun to ride, and less because their efficent, because theyre not.

Also theyre generally cheaper, and dead simple to keep running. And you wont look out of place carrying your board in to a store or the such.

I carry 3 allen keys and a pump that came with my bike which also has a nice spot on the rack. That's everything I ever need, also I always have chewing gum with me because I like to chew which I've once used to temporarily make a punctured tire usable.

this my first and only board, built it about 10 years ago when I was 18 but honestly almost never skate it because I'm a bikefag since kid and this was my first board experience. Longboards are much easier to ride and have larger wheels so riding over pebbles isn't as much of a problem as with stunt boards. I'm 260lbs by the way and the can easily hold my weight.

I'd say longboard because of their bigger, softer, wheels which is easier to ride on rougher surfaces. You can throw longboard wheels or whatever is softer/bigger on a regular skateboard though. I made a huge mistake of putting on 53mm, 99a hardness wheels on my board to the point it's not even fun to ride anymore unless the surface is smoother than a baby's ass. I'm an absolute beginner and never progressed because I built a board with the wrong goal >>1167624
