A bike can be stored in any place, you must live in a extremely small place (such as those cages in which some really poor asians live).If you own a room, you can store a bike, that's all, specially if that bike can save you a lot of time each day, and if space becomes a problem, take a foldable bike, I have a low tier one and it's still pretty compact.
This case sure sounds like a stupid man that doesn't knew other forms of transportation, it's not like this other man that had to take the bus+walk around 45km every day.
