Just recently, I almost doored a cyclist on SPring Garden. Never drive in the city, but I had to go Jersey-side so I deiced to cut through and pick up some tickets.
Dude looked back and yelled 'THANKS!' and if I had a gun on me right there I woulda shot myself in the fucking head.

I walk everywhere. I moved 0.3 miles from school/ 1 mile from work and sold my car to my gf. There is a train from me to work and protected bike lane to school but I just walk because its easier.

I do that with my regular glasses since I usually have them on before the helmet.

I have not touched one of my bikes for over a year, I ride all other ones regulary.
I own 3 motorised vehicles.
I spit on motorists that drive shitty/dangerous.
My chain turned into rust once since I didn´t lubricate it properly for salty conditions.

When I see a neglected bike I want to steal it and repair it.

Same, I could leave home five minutes earlier and arrive by bus (literally dropped in front of it) and only have to walk 100meters to the bus stop. But cost wise I wouldn't save much

My only bike and daily ride for about 13 weeks of the year is a ~18 y/o rusted to shit MTB with no fenders, most of the gears not engaging anymore and a chain sound like it wants to be put down. I have intentions of riding full time starting this spring, but I worry that I'll neglect my next bike as well.

I stole bikes in Pittsburgh from 2011 to 2014. Made about 600-800 a week. Sold most of them in NY, Baltimore, and Philly.

The irony is It got me into biking.

There's a very hill heavy street with a large amount of traffic that I've never had the balls to take my bike on, I've only ever seen four people brave enough to take their bike on it in the past ten years. One day I was going up the worst hill in my car while a cyclist was working his way up slowly. As he was near the top I was about to pass him. The top of the hill has a blind corner and now the front of my car was maybe even with the end of his rear tire. That's when I saw the truck coming at me from the other lane. I immediately swerved back into the lane next to the cyclist, dangerously close. I don't know exactly how close I was, but it surprised me when I looked at my side mirror and he wasn't forced off the road. I sped away feeling horrible, I still haven't ridden that street on my bike.

One of my friends was trying to do that to make money, he got really prepped up for his first theft and he got caught instantly. They sent him to jail for the weekend, and then bail was granted on the Monday. Hilarious nonetheless.

My cycling confession is that I dislike the rising popularity of cycling and wish my city has never built cycling lanes. I love cycling but the bike lanes have brought so many slow riding hipsters and unstable cat ladies in their 30s to the streets that driving my car through my neighborhood is frustrating and annoying. Popularity lead to increasing prices on old used bikes, increased resentment from cars, and the best old bike shops losing out to surly dealer hipster assholes and mechanics who are normie upper class college kids that can't do anything right

I continuously reported to google that a local bike shop was closed using different fake accounts, until they actually marked it closed for a couple weeks. All because one of the mechanics was a smug cunt. It closed for real 2 month later.

I’m currently riding a Raleigh from the 90s with 38s and I’m actually starting to feel almost guilty about pushing aside my vintage converted single speed for it, those thicc tires, drop bars and gears are just amazing.

Doesn't matter. Keep riding and you'll soon be a able to do the distance without feeling like you have to throw up. Will probably be beneficial for your weight too.

I dunno just did. Started by joy riding a bike from the bar. Then slowly turned into a steady thing. Stole 2-3 bikes a week. Had a van to haul them to different places. Pitts a small city so I knew people would check local shops. Also I'm white so I knew no one would care if they saw me with a van full of bikes. If I'd been black...

It was possible in my situation, but I started completely replacing my public transport commute by bike, around a year later I had lost like 30 pounds. By the end of last season I ended up doing 50km every week, it's a great feeling to be able to change up your way on the go, so don't give up, it's still gonna feel hard as shit though, but you'll get better
