That said, dude doesn't seem to have any really new ideas, does he? Steam-era dystopia with humans living behind walls, steam/gas powered weapons that are pretty ineffective against the enemy that's coming to eat them, protagonist complaining about how everyone lives in fear but he's not afraid of taking the fight to the monsters, some other spoilers I'm not going to give away... 5 episodes in and I'm feeling it's basically a 100% clone of all the themes and plot points from Attack on Titan, but with zombies instead of giants, and on a train.
