Just ordered the Teravail Cumberland and Kennebec for my 27.5+ bike, and a set of Maxxis All Terranes for my SSCX bike. Will continue to run Tufo Hi-Comp Carbon 25mm tubulars on my road bike this season (got some for Christmas) but will switch to the Tufo Elite Ride 25mm next season (probably gumwall).

I've been commuting on panaracer paselas for a couple months now and I'm really pleased. I bought them because they were pretty well priced and I thought would look good on my bike ('96 Cannondale H400). I was really pleased with the feel and comfort of them over the tired contis I had on before. No flats either, but then again I very rarely get flats in general. Would recommend/buy again, especially if you're specifically looking for a skinwall.

I have a bike from '87 with an old-school 27" wheelset (larger than 700c which is 29" but still called 27 for some reason)
There are far less options made than for current wheel standards, but I can find new tires without any problems. I chose Schwalbe Marathons.

So: easy, for some definitions of ancient.

Running 38mm Vittoria Voyager Hypers on my commuter. Great for tarmac but they shit the bed as soon as the road surface gets even a little loose.

I currently have the set of 37mm WTB Riddlers that came with the bike knocking around that I swap on when I know I'm going offroad and that's got me sorted for the most part.

However, I've got a week of riding coming up that's going to be something like 50% road, 45% gravel track/fire road and 5% offroad/singletrack. Is there anything y'all would recommend over the Hypers for a bit more grip through the gravel/offroad segments?

I need a set of 25s to replace the current tyres on my bike, there's a 23 Schwalbe Durano Plus on the rear, and some random 25c Specialized (Armadillo?) on the front. I commute across London, roads are quite bumpy but generally there's not that much debris on them. I was thinking of just getting two Durano pluses in 25. I've never been taken by the grip or ride quality on Gatorskins, and I'm not sure what Conti's other offerings are. Any other recommendations?

Also, what are the differences between the standard Durano and the Durano plus?

Durano has a thin tighly woven nylon fabric under the thread and the Durano plus has about 2-3 mm of rubber as puncture protection under the thread.
The plus has better puncture protection but a less supple ride quality.

I ride the standard ones atm and they have better ride quality than any other tire I have ridding it it's size.

That bike doesn't make sense. Whoever built it needs to be shot. Ratios for climbing but wide/thread-less tires only suitable for climbing on pavement? Has gear ratios for climbing on pavement and decides to go with a heavy/wide bike instead just a typical road bike?

28x10 on 30+'' tires is still good for over 50km/h at 100rpm which is more than enough to pass Dr Douchebag on his Cervelo with Zipps as he mashes away at 30rpm. I have no issues passing people on the flats or uphills with 28x11.

AL or carbon framed fat bike geared for climbing wearing slicks. Sure a good rider can pass recreational cyclists on expensive bikes. I can suck your wind-stream for a faster, easier commute.

This winter was the worst in recent memory. I made it through unscathed, but I had some close calls with the snow and ice. Looking for a decent set of winter tires between 32mm and 40mm. Any reccs?

I would recommend Nokian Hakkapelliita tyres, but Nokian sold their bicycle tyre production to Suomi Tyres and i have no idea if that has had any effect on the quality of the tyres. Looks like Suomi still makes the same models, though.
I was really impressed with my W106's.

Just installed a pair of Schwobl Pro One Tubeless tires. Rode them for about 25 miles and felt pretty grippy, rolling resistance was nice, noticeably quieter than four seasons. Only time will tell how durable they are now.

Bit overpriced from the local shops however, best bet is buying it online.

Personally I'd go big as possible with as little tread as possible, unless you plan to ride a lot of mud.

Something like schwalbe thunder burt or conti race kings (speed kings aren't properly tubeless compatible, I think)

i have recently bought schwalbe G-One the top of the line foldable and so on.
DO NOT BUY THIS SHIT.
they are fucking unbalanced even hooked correctly on the rim, and the rubber has bumps on it because they were folded in a bad way during shipping. needless to say the dealer don't want to take them back.

Where i live it mostly pavement but with some good gravel stretches. So its why i'm looking for a tire that's not going to get chewed up too bad on the tarmac. This is my first adventure bike, i've spent my whole life on MTB and road.

What's the lightest tire with the most puncture resistance out there for under ~$100? Using GP 4 season atm.

And I just realized I have 23mm tires yesterday, could have sworn I had 25s. Has anyone experienced a speed advantage moving up sizes? I saw it on a gcn video once.

You don't really get a speed advantage for going up to 25mm. It's just you get a comfort advantage for zero speed disadvantage.
They roll a bit faster to compensate for the extra weight.

I looked at that, max size 2.2 the G-one in 29 is 2.25 "should" fit but I'm not sure..

I guess worst case if it doesn't fit I could use it as a hardpack tire on my 29'er MTB.

I'm not a racer but I went from 23 to 25 to 28 on a CAAD. 28mm was an even more significant jump than to 25mm. Due to, ya know.. reality, every extra mm you add grants you exponentially more air in the tubes. I reckon 28mm has over 50% more air than a 23mm despite only 20% increase in width

Schwalbe makes some fine tires too (my bike was OG specced with Hans Dampf) but they cost twice as much, last half as long and are a bitch to seat.

Meanwhile I have never failed to seat a Maxxis tire with a hand pump.

I got a hard tail that came with 26 x 1.95s... but I think this size is overkill for the streets. Should I keep that size or go 26 x 1.5? This is gonna be my do it all bike with pavement and sand/dirt trails.
