Failure of autonomous car and their remote control

No.1166784 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
It's said that autonomous car will be the future of transportation, however >>>/o/18815849 recently an incident happened in China in which the driver put his car into autocrusing mode (not autodriving) and then the system failed to terminate. After almost an hour of high speed cruising, manufacturer shut down the car remotely.

So,
1. It proved that these autonomous systems can be out of control and be dangerous. How should transportation authorities regulate these automatic functions?
2. It showed that manufacturers do indeed have the ability to shut down a car from their office. Maybe also further control on the car? How will it impact people's view on transportation methods?
