In 1986, there was a splinter group based on the church of latter day saints (LDS) that formed into a cult. They wanted to rid the world of all the degeneracy among the youth. They wanted to kill off as many sinful people as possible, so they planned a coordinated attack for November 26th of that year. The plan was to station members of the church around the country, who would all start killing people such as punks and gays at exactly the same time.
The majority of the church members ended up backing out, and not harming anybody but this photo was taken on a San Francisco bus of a cult member attempting to strangle a punk. I think it actually won a Pulitzer prize.
