Cone-cup vs cartridge bearings

What will the new wheel be? Cups and cones or sealed bearings? 32 or 36 spokes?

IMHO cones are OK, but rebuilding them is logistics nightmare. Standard quality brand bearings are everywhere.

Try getting matching quality cone that doesn't change your OLD or bearing balls that are not noname chink shit in your LBS. Not even talking about spacers, seals and dust covers...

Only disadvantage of cartridge i think is inability to fix good enough to get to civilization while touring. Cones can really be run shot if required.
