>>1180991You could swap the fork out for a modern disc fork, and do disc front canti rear, although it might mess with the geo some since most modern forks don't have that much sweep and 90s rigid forks have a fair bit. There's absolutely nothing wrong with cantis though if you know how to set them up right
>Anyone know of some good commuter bikes for off pavement that are light?I'm going to disagree with most other people in the thread and say that it is possible to have a reasonably light commuter that's still sturdy and affordable, there's tons of stuff between rigid mtbs and road bikes. From the picture of the path you posted it looks ridable with just a regular road bike with slightly wider tires, and comfy with a cx bike or a gravel meme machine. If I were you I'd get a decent alu cross bike a few years old, make sure it can take a rack and fenders, and you're good to go
