I tried to build a train on this map but the flanged wheels in that game just kept bending under the weight of the body. Gmod is really just a poor man's option for a lot of other things. Jack of all trades, master of none.

Garrysmod has some really weird physics quirks that don't match up with what you'd expect, namely in prop weight. Learn a bit more about prop weight and stability, and you'll be surprised how much more stable things can be. A weighted prop can firmly support a body while a light prop acts like spaghetti. Simply using the weight tool can fix that. Tools like smartsnap, set position, easy precision and whatnot will help you keep your build squared up. Well you're partially correct.

If you get close enough to the kraken it stands still so you can actually fly through its "eye" holes into the secret glowing red cave inside it.

Takes a lot of skill tho.

And here are a couple of a previous, simpler iteration of the tail, from when I was still sorting out the center of lift v thrust v drag to make it all work without the asymmetric forces exerted by the elevators and the drag from the cockpits throwing the whole thing into a spin during strong/sudden maneuvers.

And thanks, later today I'll upload a pic of my finally-tweaked BV-141 copy. I mounted guns to it for shits and giggles and won a couple dogfights against the AI with it, even though it can't turn for shit. That makes sense though, given that it was meant as an observation aircraft, not a knife-fighter.

Speaking of TaleSpin, maybe I'll do the Sea Duck next. I've been working on a Dornier Do-X, but while it flies decently well I still can't get the damn thing to take off...

You can edit the cross-section of the fuselage block. I had it progressively going from "round" to "smooth" and then finally to "hard".

I prefer to take a "Minecraft" approach to building planes, because the game does not take fuselage aerodynamics into account.

Reminds me of trying to fly my all-stock parts N1-L3 in KSP, complete 30-engine 1st stage, all payload fairings, and an appropriately-greebly Soyuz/lander setup on my poor old 2007 MacBook Pro. That thing easily had a parts count of over 500.

Ditto for making either my stock-parts Columbia or Buran take off and dock with my all-stock parts ISS. KSP really didn't play nice with 20-module space stations and parts counts in the thousands on an old 2.4ghz Core2 Duo a Dubya-era Nvidia mobile GPU, and 4 gigs of ram.

Pic related for those who don't know what an N1-L3 is. Shockingly, my stock-parts UR-700 flew much better and was stupidly easy to fly a lunar return mission with. My stock parts Apollo/Saturn V otoh killed tons of Kerbals trying to perfect that damned "take off from the moon in a lander with barely enough fuel to make lunar orbit and actually intercept the command module" part.
