Newfag here, what should i look for when maintaining a bike? Are there specific products i should look for? Also DIY/maintenance help thread.

Just clean and lube your chain when it needs it, replace brake pads and cables every couple years, check your tire pressure every week or so, adjust indexing if it isn't shifting well, repack hubs every 6 moths or every year, and rewrap your bars when the tape gets nasty and that's basically it

Use dry chain lube, the teflon based stuff works well. Wet lube does better in the rain but gets grimy quickly
