>>1194859Ride went ok, I didnt go for a long ride just 20km. As I havent done any cycling for years now I am pretty new to it and cant quite pace myself. Strength or muscle soreness is never really the big issue so far because I have been going to the gym for over 3 years now and can Squat 3pl8+ for reps. The problem is with my ~205lbs and a decent chunk of muscle I feel like my cardio is just shit. Everybody keeps telling me to keep on spinning but honestly I feel it is easier for me to grind hard gears and use my strength because my cardio is really bad.
The first part of the ride I was going pretty fast, flying by some old people and untrained people like I knew what I was doing. Later on I blew up a bit, partially because I didnt eat much beforehand, partially because I brought no water and it is really hot here (I thought I didnt need it for this short ride). So with a dry throat and overpacing myself a bit I struggled in the later part before I got my second wind shifted into a hard gear and grinded it out. Last part went well by going out of the saddle for the last few hills.
All in all I am pleased but my riding style is far from efficient and I really need to bring water or I am gonna burn out in the warm weather.
