>>1197936Yeah, having the railway preservation society in your country be in your home town is pretty nice, it means I don't have far to go to their museum or indeed to their own station for when they run stream train events, i.e. they run the train down the country and back again.
I remember when their workshop was tiny, and ever since the EU started funding it, they expanded their workshop, built a new station and station building and signal box, they built a museum and can not afford to run several heritage services on the mainline every month. Summer and October are when most of the long distance heritage trains run. December is when they do Christmas services for kids.
Oddly enough, that train also acts as the Royal Train if the British monarch or one of the family visits the railways.
