It's almost comical to see signs with English in the middle of a sentence. I've had delivery drivers apologise for speaking Dutch because they didn't realise I spoke English.

You buy private insurance but the market is heavily regulated so they can't refuse an application, they all broadly offer the same cover and the prices are regulated so it's not much competition. I don't really know they they bother; single payer would be easier and cheaper.
