Do discs even have to be circular? Can't they be bent slightly inwards like a cone to improve aerodynamics? Assuming you design the calipers to deal with a bending in disc.

Or how about this: Make the entire wheel a disc brake and attach calipers right to the bit just before the tire.

Cannondale means nothing to me anymore since they closed their Bedford, PA plant in 2009. What separates this from any other Taiwanese-made Giant mass produced carbon bike out there?

That doesn’t look UCI legal. A bike is fast if it is aerodynamic and requires less power to maintain the same speed as a slower bike. But that’s assuming the rider has already adopted the most aerodynamic UCI legal riding position possible.

This is an idiotic idea. There would be too much stopping power. 180mm discs are already overkill for most applications. A 700mm disc would be a suicidally powerful braking surface

I guess that's true. People would hurt themselves on the grippers, too. They'd get fingers and stuff trapped inside during a crash, and it'd be a bulky contraption that someone would break a skull on. Not a good idea.
