In my specific area of the city, we have trolley tracks, and going out of the bike lane means dealing with trolley tracks at 18mph with an undesirable angle.
More than anything, it's just annoying. It's annoying and a lack of caring that gets cyclists killed dead. In the same way that people don't consider cyclists when they park, they don't consider cyclists when turning or changing lanes. It's all the same bullshit.
They've never think for even a second of putting on hazard and sitting in a lane of traffic for cars.
