Flybys can often be weird. I've passed my friend and teammate multiple times while he was recording rides without us showing up on either's flybys. It doesn't happen too often but it does happen.

Check app permissions and make sure it's allowed to use the gps
Otherwise, uninstall + reinstall may do the trick

also check your power savings settings, I found my phone was blocking using gps while the screen was off.

Thanks, turns out it was the power savings thing. A third party power saving app I downloaded was messing with the GPS.

What I like about cycling is getting away from people. Using social media during a ride goes directly against why I ride in the first place.
