I have just realized that I am somehow interested in planes and aviation in general. I'm interested in how stuff does work and so on....
Is it worth becoming a pilot, or some sort of mechanic? Or maybe even some sort of engineer?
But flight schools are indeed expensive...

Btw, I'm currently studying CS, and I'm kinda not as interested in it as I was... And I believe that it will be difficult to find a job, considering number of Pajeets.
Also I'm interested in electronics and other engineering related stuff..

I'm studying an aviation management degree in Australia and so far it's quite intensive but my university has god like industry links and allows you to do a 12 month paid work placement, and makes you attend networking events. Pretty much guarentees a job in the field once you've graduated. It's very content heavy and has a mixture of business strategies, aviation law and if you choose you can do a minor in engineering if you wanna do some maths.

There are a ton of very different jobs in the aviation business, that require a lot of people from many different backgrounds.
It's easier to find something you're good at (in your case it might be CS, electronics or whatever) and then look into applying it to something you love (aviation) than try to get good at something you're not really that naturally good at, because you'll have to compete with people who are.
If you want to fly planes you'll always have flight sims and GA on the weekends, it can be a hobby, doesn't have to be a career.
And then research aviation oriented programs, the possible positions you might apply for, aviation companies in your area, internships, etc, to get in the industry.

I know there are a lot of pilots studing aviation (not management) in my course and that could the case with them. I've always wondered why get a degree in flying but it makes sense if its basically interest free from the government.

It's a good job, every day is different. It's hard work to get into it and day to day has it's challenge, but compared to most of the people i went to school/uni with, i have a much easier working life.

You don't have much control over it initially but once you have a bit of seniority, it's pretty good.

I'm currently a captain on the A320 in Europe working for a very decent company, managed that in just under 5 years since my first flight in a jet which is good, means aged 30, I earn just about 180,000 euros a year. Not bad for a 30 year old!

Some of my course mates who are now captains didn't do any school past age 16. Obviously they did their flight training (about 18 months), but nothing else apart from that. One of my buddies just made captain aged 26, no way you could do that along with 4 years of uni.

The american system will make some of you believe that you need to go to uni and study aeronautics or some bs, we don't do that in Europe and it's not like planes are falling out of the sky.

It's probably more expensive to train over here, but you can walk into a jet job a few weeks after training onto a salary of 60-80k usd a year being the norm for even mediocre graduates from a decent enough school (or on a program), but it does cost maybe $150k to train. The shit entry level jobs market means the cheap price to train is a total false economy. That's why people stuck on turbo props in the US/CAN go to awful places like Turkey just to get a bit of jet experience so they can finally move to the next level. I flew a 180 passenger jet on my 163rd hour of flying. Yes I'm big headed, but the US system is stupid and you guys should do something about it!

There will be loads more people with specific knowledge for the industry in Australia. Info from any other country is of no use as the industry is incredibly different in different countries.

And as IT monkey you will do $10-20/hr for like three-five years. Now. And In future I believe even less. And same about EE.
By the way, I can change CS to EE without any major problems. And EE's may be required in aerospace engineering... So yeah, not quite sure which engineering should I choose.

Anyway. I'm kinda trying to leave Russia. Study and live abroad. In another shithole (or not that shitty in fact). And this is why I have some spare real estate to sell. And good thing that real estate in Moscow is quite expensive.
Btw, can airlines hire thirdworlder pilot? If yes - it is just the best way to become a white person.
Also, what about health? I've googled some things, and it looks like that I will fit (good vision, hearing), but I'm slightly fat (can be fixed, it was the protection from obligatory russian army) and small hump (probably can be fixed, but not sure).

In Russia it is more like $10/hr. And it is considered a good salary. And EE earns fucking nothing there. $5/hr if lucky,
In my current country it is like $10-15/hr. And EE is more like $12-15/hr in beginning.
Some faggot on /g/ claimed, that he got only $30 000/yr for being an IT monkey. He was probably from US. Again, I can't say anything about US, I've never been there.
Also you should not forget, that number of Indian IT specialist is enormous. And all they are trying to leave India and work for food in US/Canada...
Anyway, I'm not 100% sure about EE, but IT will be overfilled at time I will finish university for sure. Actually similar situation happened to my sister, she studied economics (like many-many other ppl, it was popular for a reason), and when she finished, she weren't able to find a job, like at all.
