like, i get all of these urban freeway plans were stupid in hindsight, but this takes the cake.

>bulldozes roughly 20 miles of the capital city
>puts the portion of the loop that goes near the capitol building underground even though if there's anyone in DC who deserves to be next to a loud, smelly, and noisy freeway everyday, it's Congress.
DC fucking lucked out here. The Metro is on fire constantly, yeah, but that's something that can be fixed.
This would've fucking ruined the city.
