Hey /n/,

I'm doing some research into making my own e-bike, and I just wanted to know if you guys have any wisdom that you can bestow upon me as embark on my journey.

Go mid drive over hub motor. Don't skimp on a quality battery (that means you'll probably pay more for the battery than the motor)

Anything else is peanuts and popcorn compared to those main points

I really like the Yamaha mid-drives over most other options on the market.

The ability to have a double chainring is important.

I have not had the opportunity to test the latest golden pie hub, which can accommodate a 10-speed cassette and a torque sensor in the bottom bracket. Could be worthwhile.

Getting mad about someone's opinion on the internet and sperging about it even though deep down you know no matter how violently you flail your arms across you keyboard you can never change it is exactly the same ineffectual rage cagers feel as they are stuck in traffic for the 3rd time today because Stacy tried to update her Instagram while being completely oblivious to the fact she was piloting her father's multi-ton vehicle
