I was born in the mid-80s and it's interesting seeing how much Brio changed by the time your picture was taken, this pic shows what it was like in my day - pretty much no plastic, very simple shapes, solid colored parts with maybe single-color printing, etc.
Man, my parents must have spent a fortune on the stuff, I had almost everything in this catalog. I know for sure I had the tunnel, multiple bridges including the drawbridge and that multi-span one, the gantry crane, the train ferry, that orange multiple unit, the car carrier and the tow truck, etc. Crazy how clearly all the stuff is coming back when I look at this catalog.
