The secondary, but equally important purpose of them is to enhance your vision, also for safety purposes. Reducing glare makes it easier to see, which is safer when you're riding.

I think maybe the OP is just a poorfag who can't afford even cheap cycling glasses and probably just wears a pair of clear safety glasses borrowed from his dad's garage. Maybe if he weren't a NEET he could afford proper things.
