Combine that with an advanced ECAM system for looking at aircraft performance, an MCDU which allows for far more varied inputs and controls, and the A320 starts becoming this comfortable place where you can manage your day pretty well.
Sidestick works well (crew training is vital though), and the freed up space allows the Airbus to have a folding table, allowing for writing up log books and whatever else. Time to eat? Table has you covered for that too.
The A380/A350 also has a keyboard and trackpad that can be uncovered in the table, allowing the flight crew to access their navigation chart database for a paperless cockpit. Even the A380/A350 automatically tracks checklists, making sure no item gets missed and that the aircraft is in the proper configuration.
Plus, the Airbus has folding footrests, meaning that during cruise, pilots can put their feet somewhere comfortable without the risk of accidental rudder input, or accidentally hitting a switch.
