unhook the side of the tire from the metal
rim. you may need a tool to do so, you can get by with a butter knife or the back part of a spoon.
remove tires entirely from rim and tubes entirely from tire
if you're patching the tube pump it up with air and find the hole. if you cant find the hole put the tube in a large bucket or tub of water to see airholes.
scrap the area directly around the hole with the scuffing pad that comes with the patch kit, apply glue to the patch, patch the tube. let it sit for a while so the vulcanization takes effect
if you're not patching just inflate the tube a little bit so that it has shape.
run your hands gently along the inside of the tire while inspecting the outside of the tire with your eyes. you're looking and feeling for something sharp. could be glass, a goathead, thorns, wire, a nail...
after youve inspected your tire and removed debris check your rim. make sure the rubber strip or tape around your rim covers all spoke/ spoke holes. if they don't, try to fix it. if no luck use electrical tape.
unless its a folding tire, put the tube inside the tire, put the valve through the valve hole, and put first one side around the rim entirely. try to make sure the tube is directly in the middle of the rim before you do the second side. you don't want to see any tube poking out when you're putting the tire on.
if its a folding tire first put one side on entirely, then put the tube inside the tire startng with the valve at the valve whole. make damn sure the tube is inside the tire and rim completely before applying second side. pump up to the reccomended pressure. make sure the tire is properly fitted around the rim. if it bulges over the rim deflate ASAP before it explodes. if it looks like part of the tire is saggin into the rim deflate, pull at it gently with ur hands and reinflate it.
