I'm bored to tears today and there is really not much to do or see, so i'm wondering if anyone knows if it's fun to just ride the bus around going nowhere in particular.

No trains unfortunately. In fact there really should local trains around Eastern WA but this is America so of course there aren't any.

This board wouldn't be so obsessed with bikes if they didn't offer much greater potential to explore your local area than cars do, especially combined with being able to transport them on a bus or train for longer distances than you feel like pedaling.

Cars are for obligations, not desires.

Riding alone makes you feel anonymous which can be liberating but lonely.
it's cruel to say it like this but the world seems like your own personal zoo.
Be prepared to have plenty of feels.
Don't ride at night unless you want to see weird shit.
Also, shower as soon as possible. public transit is filthy.

It's fun to do trips riding along the limits of the validity range of tickets.
That sort of trip is similar to the Japanese Oomawari, but again completely different.

Say, you buy a day ticket for the city you live in, and ride along the city border.
Takes you to places you'd never ever get to see regularly, and you test the limits of your local public transport.
