I use special cleaning stuff with less aromatics in it and gloves to not come in contact with that shit.

The oil I use is a verry high viscosity 80W gearbox-oil, designed to work under high pressures.
I dont track how many kilometers I put on my equipment, but my chains tend to last at least one season on my roadbike.
If you want higher viscosity, how about wax or melting some grease?
Might not be the same as the manufacturers grease, but it is fresh grease and not running the pinns and rollers dry.
If you want to go fully autistic get a top of the line synthetic grease, mix it with molybdaniumdisulphate, melt it and soak your freshly cleaned chain in it.
