Get one if you're sure you want to stick to urban stunts and don't care about riding singletrack trails.
If you want something that can handle singletrack and still do some urban riding, go with a hardtail. I've been able to learn to bunnyhop, manual (somewhat), ride drops, and go off jumps on mine, and I'm currently working to learn endos, whips, 180s, etc. Whether you're riding a BMX, dirt jumper, hardtail, downhill, full sus, whatever the main thing it's going to come down to is your commitment to practicing and your willingness to take risks and get hurt every now and then to achieve your goals. Also, find people way better than you to ride with. They'll provide both knowledge and motivation.
