There's nothing wrong with single pivot sidepulls. They track better on out of true rims and offer more clearance than dual pivots, but have a bit less mechanical advantage. The reason why dual pivots are popular is because people started jacking their seats up and slamming that stem, and now use the hoods as their primary hand position. That means less hand force for the levers than riding in the drops.

There are a bunch of little cycling retailers who have more or less web 1.0 sites, like Peter White, World Class Cycles, and The Touring Store. Peter's site is hilarious because someone recently tried doing a kewl javascript menu that is broken. eta on a fix is sometime around 2025.

there is a compact type of canter lever from the 1990s that is not very good
its arms are short and only angle something like 33 degrees
and they can be ineffective to the point of causing hand and wrist fatigue when used with 3 finger levers
Shimano XTR BR-M900 is typical of this kind

better to use the canter levers that are at least 45 degrees
90 degrees is best any way
