>>1242906I'm one sandwich away from obesity: 1,93m x 94kg. I tried riding my roadbike (one of those first carbon fiber ones from villiger) for 26 km to my workplace at least 2x per week but gave up because I hated having to get up too early.
Also, I ride my bike on a feeling-based ruleset: like, if the light is red but I have to turn right on the crossroad - I just do it without waiting. I'm pretty fast though - never encountered anyone actually faster than me in the city, so I overtake every single other rider I can because they're fuckin slow. Especially at the green lights, because literally everyone is too retarded to downshift 10m before braking.
Nevertheless, the land I live in is pretty permissive with bikers - I often ride out of the bike lane, 'cause that shit is too bumpy, and people never yell at me or get angry. Maybe they know the struggle too.
I also want to buy a powermeter, but can't justify that kind of money despite having a six figure salary because I simply do not ride that much. I'm a fred in the making.
>>1243121>>1243141this, the weather is going down the shitter and soon everything's gonna be frozen, which will make me want to ride even less
>>1243174unless you're a competitive cyclist, no need to do that. I, for once, ride with my normal clothes, pull up the pants on my right leg at most, and I'm the furriest gorilla-like motherfucker ever. Care less
>>1243231Capitalist market teaches you that in order to be successful you need to sell a better product than your neighbour. The other side of the medal is that your shit *must* break and you *must* make your customers addicted to your stuff, much like the drug dealers - this is what separates the winners and the "endangered small businesses". Not a commie, that's just how it works. It's "survival of whomever sells the most" now, instead of the fittest/strongest/whatever.
