>>1243476I think the idea was just to use roller coaster technology, especially the track, since that's the only type of rail that can handle both really steep inclines and sharp turns and changes in incline. There are special trains that can go up quite steep hills, but they're expensive, and since the track is on ground level they still require reshaping the ground to build. There are verniculars which can handle any incline, but have to go in a straight line. The track that rollercoasters use can handle sharp turns in any direction, including vertical, and floats above the ground, so the terrain doesn't matter.
