>>1255453Happens all the time I fly with Lufthansa and Eurowings. It's happened a lot on KLM (even once had a female captain on an Embraer 175 who was probably 28) and I've come across plenty of female pilots on budget airlines and other European carriers.
I actually feel better with a female captain, because I know she's probably spergy about aviation. Plus, some of the best captains are women. Tammy Jo Schults was captain of that Southwest flight a while back. She was one of the first women to fly jet fighters in the USAF before she retired to civilian aviation.
One of Aeroflot's senior captains on the A330 is a woman who competed full cosmonaut training before leaving Roscosmos (as they kept on not having the money to put more than 2 Russians on a Soyuz at a time).
Female pilots are comfy as heck.
