What you stated is absolutely obvious
No one here thinks "hey, the combustion engine is the most useless invention ever made, we could transport this 18k ton machinery piece using our bikes!"
The point is: cars are important and useful, but over-used by the majority in ways that impact the whole society
People use cars way too much to cover distances that could easily be done by walking or riding a bike, for example
The politics and infrastructure are all made having cars as a priority, giving more space to gigantic parking lots, spreading out the city, establishing homes apart from commercial centers and so on
Also cars are glorified for the status they carry, the entitlement they supposedly give people, and people who drive tend to think they own the streets because "hurr I pay taxes, this is mine, if you don't own a car I'm superior to you and you shouldn't even be able to be using this space"
That's what we're talking about, do you get it?
It doesn't make sense to take your car for a 3 blocks ride, and there should be better options like public transportation to get around
People usually ride their cars alone and don't carry lots of stuff to work other than regular things in their backpacks and sit in traffic for 40 minutes to cover 7km because a shitload of other morons do the same thing
Keep lurking the board and you'll get the idea
