What are fines and fares on your system? Do you often have your fare checked if you have a proof of payment system?

For me:
Base fare is $2 and the fine is $180
I don’t get checked often and transit cops are very nice about no harassing homeless people who don’t pay their fare or have expired tickets. I regularly see people who haven’t paid get out of trouble without a warning.

1 way fare = $3.5
fine = $45
ride twice a day but only get caught once or twice a year. Its cheaper to pay the fine than the fare

PSOs/transit police should grab anyone caught hopping the gates and fine them immediately for intending to travel without a valid ticket, unless they can produce a valid ticket, which I doubt because why would they jump the gate?

In my shithole you can buy ticket with some fine from controllers. I mean, it is not serious if you get caught, no police niggers are involved.
