Which geometery is best for bikes?- the discussion continues

* Long and low MTB is the future but it can't climb mountains so maybe we can't call it a mountain bike anymore

* Low trail is the future of road riding?

80s 12 speed ATB/urban bike or 30s dutch pattern - .ie better handle bars and seats - more useful mid range speed (they suck at climbing tho)
they are more comfie than the 90s rigid mtb / catherine wheel posture .eg 140 mm stem with 520 mm flat bars

the more modern style slack angle xc/downhill bike is only good off road
and hybrid bikes miss the boat so far as comfort goes

No, it's specifically for front loaded rando bikes. Even rando fags have to admit it's at least somewhat worse for a plain road bike.

I put a low trail fork on a fucked up riding high trail touring bike and it cured the handling... I have no money or brains to test this theory but I think the handling issues with super long stem/bar reach can be helped with low trail

Short guy here:
I would realy like to see roadbikes with 650C front and 700C rear.
Running a strenum-puncher with your drops at the height of your front brake is certainly not ideal, plus it would save some rotational weight and aerodynamic drag from the smaller wheel.

Georgina Terry made a lot of 700c & 24" bikes back in the day. If you're in the US you can probably get one off craigslist for pretty cheap if you keep an eye out. They were well made bikes. Proportionally it supposedly makes sense for several reasons below 50cm sizes.

Terry still makes 650c bikes (both wheels) and recommends them to riders between the 24"/700c small end and the 700c sizes

Most 650c bikes though are just tri bikes, in larger sizes, with the smaller wheels being used simply for acceleration and the memes of the day.

650b in the road world isn't really so much for short people, as it is for larger tires. You still generally end up with the same/ similiar effective wheel size, just more of it is tire.

Have you even tried? I have a bike with 530mm reach, 64° head angle and ~450mm chainstays and climbing certainly isn't a problem.
