>>1280412>777XF is certainly going to have a higher unit cost than the 748-F,Same for all new aircraft versus older aircrafts, yet you cannot see airlines buying new build older generation aircraft just like airlines purchased 777F instead of new MD11F
>it'll take fowerever for UPS to get deliveriesThat wouldn't be a problem as long as they're delivered before UPS retiring their old 747.
>and after all that it wont be able to haul the same payload. So is 777F compared to MD11F yet it replaced all of them without problem. There's a thing known as rightsizing.
>What UPS, Amazon, DHL etc. will assuredly be all over the 772's that are going to flood the used market as their big passenger operators transition their fleets.Think. Why cargo airlines still buy new aircraft when they can get converted used cheap old aircraft instead? They use them with high utility rate comparable to passengers aircraft and thus the fuel consumption saving of new build aircraft could cancel the higher acquisition cost. Buying a new build old generation aircraft would cancel this advantage and make it pointless.
